Thanks to a very generous donation from Peter Borst, The Immaculate Conception & St Norberts Church were able to purchase the former St. Thomas’ Road Methodist Chapel and form Project St. Thomas. Project St. Thomas and ‘Hub in Hub out’ are dedicated to his memory.
We have designed an outreach programme called “Hub In Hub Out”. With financial support from local Councillor Jack McLean we have purchased a soup tureen, electrical leads, folding table, disposable cups, and sanitising equipment. Hub In Hub Out will be delivered by community volunteers using facilities and venues provided by partners with a social mission. Together we will take hot soup and a sandwich to those most in need. We will ask for a small donation on a “what you can afford” basis. For those who cannot afford a donation, food will be provided free of charge. We aim to take time to talk and befriend people helping to break down barriers that divide our community.
